Our Classrooms
At Kesher our focus is on the community. We believe in the positive impact that building relationships with trusted adults in a diverse community of peers has on the individual child. All of our classrooms are mixed age and support a wide range of developmentally appropriate roles within each age range. This allows children to learn and grow at their own pace and form long lasting bonds over time.
All of our classes integrate the joys of Jewish life with an emergent Reggio-Emillia curriculum centered around children’s interests and curiosities. We strive to provide Anti-bias and inclusive approaches to our curriculum, environment and family engagement. Our teachers work to grow their own practice and provide developmentally appropriate opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations about social justice, as well as community driven action and creative relevant projects, in addition to engaging childhood activities such as block play, sensory play, and dramatic play.
We are dedicated to the development of the whole child and strive to balance indoor and outdoor play with nature based activities both indoors and out. We engage in outdoor play daily and in all kinds of weather, engaging in Urban Nature School through our relationship with city parks and local grounds. The children visit locations including Symphony Park, Chuck E Harris Playground, Deana Cremin Playground, our own garden! Children walk daily up .5 miles from our center.
